Why this matters
The benefits of the Affordable Care Act are clear for our community, and four million Latinos have already gained coverage. But Hispanics still have the highest uninsured rate of any group, with about one in five remaining uninsured. Some states with large Latino populations, such as Florida and Texas, have refused to expand Medicaid eligibility, denying health coverage to millions of people.
We work to increase the number of Latinos who have quality, affordable, and accessible health coverage. Quality health care is a key contributor to overall health and well-being and a necessity for people to lead healthy lives. That's why we fight so that all Latinos have the coverage and care they need.
