Civil Rights & Criminal Justice
Leading the country toward greater equity
We promote a civil rights policy agenda that confronts threats to voting rights, housing and employment discrimination, racial profiling, and disparities in key areas such as access to technology.
We support criminal justice system reform that decreases the disproportionate number of Latinos in the juvenile and adult systems, creates more opportunities to prevent youth from falling in the system, leads to fairer sentencing, encourages rehabilitation, and reduces reincarceration.
We support state and federal legislation to reduce the number of incarcerated youth and increase their opportunities after they are released from detention.
Our blog series examines the complex relationship between police and the Latino community.
