NCLR PRESIDENT MURGUIA TO KEYNOTE NAF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNIVERSARY GALA

NAF Event Will Also Honor Prominent Community Leader Ella Ochoa

Omaha, NE – Janet Murguia, National Council of La Raza (NCLR) President and CEO, will give the keynote address at the Nebraska Agricultural Federation (NAF) Human Development Corporation’s 25 Year Anniversary Banquet and Symposium. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center in downtown Omaha.

Murguia will address the issue of immigration reform and also pay tribute to Ella Ochoa, Executive Director of NAF and former board member of NCLR, who is retiring after 25 years of service with the organization. The banquet will be preceded by a reception to honor Ochoa’s long career as one of Nebraska’s most prominent advocates for the Hispanic community.

Founded in 1979 as the Nebraska Association of Farmworkers, NAF Multicultural Human Development, Inc. (NAF) is a statewide nonprofit organization and an NCLR affiliate, which serves 93 Nebraska counties through promotion of economic self-sufficiency and social and physical well-being.
