Founded in 1986, the Center for Hispanic Policy and Advocacy (CHisPA) offers social, economic, political, and educational services to Rhode Island's Latino community. CHisPA's projects include a Community Leadership Development Initiative; the Bridge School, an alternative educational program for high-risk students; an urban Promotores de Salud Model program; Project CASA, a Latino homeownership program; and management of the Juanita Sanchez Multiservice Center. CHisPA also provides technical assistance to emerging grassroots groups, conducts research and policy analysis, and advocates on behalf of Rhode Island Latinos.
